Harare -Preparations for the 21st of November Peace and Family Festival are at an advanced stage at the National Sports stadium in Harare Zimbabwe.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officiate at this first national level Peace and Family Festival and it comes at a time when the President of this nation had been preaching peace and reconciliation since he took office.
Government through the Ministry Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services endorsed the program last week during a press briefing in the capital, Harare.
“This is an organisation that was founded by Reverend Moon in South Korea together with his wife Dr Moon whom we are we are going to be welcoming to Zimbabwe on November 19 this year,” Deputy minister Energy Mutodi said.
Dr Moon is expected in the country on the 19th , this month
The purpose of this event according to FFWPU’s Zimbabwean chapter chairman Archbishop Johannes Ndanga was to heal the wounds of the past and support the Zimbabwe Government’s endeavours for peace and reconciliation.
“The forthcoming ‘Peace Starts with Me’ Peace and Family Festival, will bring together people from all walks of life —political leaders, religious leaders, chiefs, civil society leaders, married couples and youths, for the sake of peace and reconciliation,” he said.
“Through a celebration of the arts, music and inspirational words, the diversity and creative power of our human family will be highlighted.”
Archbishop Ndanga said it would be a great event for peace and family and for the community and the nation.
This is the first time in Africa that such an event is going to be held a blessing that Zimbabweans should embrace.
40 000 couples will be attending this event for their marriage rededication.
The main focus of FFWPU was to ensure that marriages are fortified and respected in partial fulfilment of the mission of Jesus Christ during his time on earth.
The festival will be free of charge and will provide refreshments for audience who will attend.
