The Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe said it will not condone corruption and all its vices in as much as it will never condone rumour mongering and peddling of “sensationally” unfounded speculative claims.
This comes after speculative allegations that the organisation brided the deputy minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Energy Mutodi with USD500k.
National registrar for ACCZ, Overseer Muchineripi Leonard Kavhu has distanced their organisation from those “unfounded allegations” saying that their organisation is more inclined to evangelising the Nation in more deed than word.
“Our interest stems from the purported sensational claims by one claiming to be an ACCZ official as reported, for the record, the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe has a vibrant Media Policy; it is unwarranted for all and sundry to speak to the media without authorisation,” he said
He added that, “ACCZ did not host neither the FFWPU delegates nor the Peace Starts with Me Family Festival and that they have nothing whatsoever to do with allegations of bribing Minister Energy Mutodi or any other Government official as purported by rumours circulating on social media,”
The ACCZ National Registrar and Secretary for Policy Formulation, Implementation and Coordination emphasised that it was not their organisation but FFWPU Zimbabwe chapter that hosted the Peace and Family Festival where they hosted their founder Dr Hak Jah Han Moon.
“The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Zimbabwe was the host of both and have its structures not ACCZ.
“We wish to distance ourselves from the said utterances attributed to our council, maybe to one masquerading as an ACCZ Official for not yet ascertained ulterior motives,” explained Overseer Kavhu.
The FFWPU-Zimbabwe chair, Archbishop Johannes Ndanga also scoffed and rubbished claims that someone was bribed and emphasised that ACCZ and FFWPU are different entities.
“ACCZ was not involved and will never be involved in FFWPU affairs because they are different entities with different principles.
“The allegations leaves a lot hanging, you can tell by the confusion between the abbreviations AACZ and ACCZ.
“There could be some political elements who have some political motives to score against Minister Mutodi,” said the man of cloth.
The Archibishop who is also now a special envoy to Mother Moon added that under normal circumstances there is noone the organisation will ever pay, “are they now tourist attractions to be paid for?” laughs the clergyman.
